Professor Declan Ihekwoaba Onwudiwe is a Visiting Professor of Criminology in the Department of Social Science. He is a Professor of Administration of Justice in the Barbara Jordan-Mickey Leland School of Public Affairs at Texas Southern University (TSU). He received his PhD degree from the School of Criminology and Criminal Justice at Florida State University. His research has focused primarily on African Criminology, terrorism, policing, strategic security, and theoretical criminology. He has published many scholarly articles on terrorism and policing, and he is the author of the Globalization of Terrorism.
He served as both the Director of the Graduate Program and Chair of the Department of Administration of Justice (DAJ) at TSU. Additionally, Professor Onwudiwe provides strategic security solutions and advice to government agencies and organizations in homeland defense, counterterrorism, and community policing. He is the immediate past President of the African Criminology and Justice Association (ACJA) and a recent recipient of the Carnegie African Diaspora Scholars’ Fellowship.
