In its internalization drive for a world class University, Coal City University, Enugu, Nigeria on Monday, 22th November, received in audience, Dr. Obianuju E. Okeke-Uzodike Ph.D, of the Durban University of Technology, South Africa.
Coal City University Vice-Chancellor, Professor Afam Icha-Ituma while receiving the guest said the University will stop at nothing towards assembling best brains from all over the world to drive scholarship, noting that the University is known for excellence.
While expressing confidence in the intellectual stamina of the guest, Professor Ituma insisted that with the arrival of Dr. Uzodike, her contributions will no doubt bring the University inch closer to her world class aspiration.
Recall that Professor Ituma, himself an internationally renowned scholar had assembled roughly 60 international visiting scholars—an exercise that birthed the International Pathway Program with Delaware State University, USA.
He pointed out areas in which DUT and CCU will partner, among which will be the Ph.D. opportunity for CCU staff to get enrolled for Ph.D. programs in DUT to enhance skills development, webinars, student and staff exchange programmes and other partnerships.
Remarking at the event, Dr. Uzodike maintained that DUT is rated 5th in South Africa with a robust research as it is funded by South Africa Ministry of Education.
The Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Dr. Sylvester Emeka Igwe, the Registrar, Dr. Ikechukwu Odigbo, the Director of Academic Planning, Dr. Felicia Alu Moh, Ag. Dean of Natural and Applied Sciences and the Head of Department of Microbiology, Dr. Nkiru Mba, the Director of Enrolment and Partnerships, Mr. Olisa-Emeka Onoh, and other principal officers of CCU attended the inaugural meeting.
