This is British Council funded partnership project between University of Lincoln, Lincoln, UK; Coal City University, Enugu; and African Development Institute of Research Methodology (ADIRM), Enugu, Nigeria for the development of innovative entrepreneurship education and digital ecosystem to increase youth’s employability, entrepreneurial skills and competencies. This as part of British Council – Innovation for African Universities (IAU) Programme, managed by the Centre of Excellence (CoE) comprising the ChangeSchool, City University of London, and University of Nairobi, Kenya.
The Project Aims
In the short-term this project seeks to investigate the problems to better understand the challenges that youths face concerning the quality of entrepreneurship education and employability skills (both paid and self-employment). In the long-term, the project seeks to offer provisions that can help to change the current situation. Also, the project recognizes gender inequality as a critical component of the problem in Nigeria. It is important to solve these problems because it will help address the issue of youth unemployment in Nigeria using the South Eastern region as a test base.
Key Objectives of the Project
- To Investigate through desk research, focus groups, stakeholders’ meetings, surveys and consultations, the problems and how Entrepreneurship education and digital resources can be improved to support innovations, entrepreneurship and employability.
- To explore resources that can be utilized to improve entrepreneurship, digital ecosystem and employability skills among graduates and youths.
- To develop synergies for the linkages of partners to the ecosystem that can support entrepreneurship ecosystem and innovations
- Develop stakeholder’s collaboration to improve entrepreneurship curriculum and graduate outcomes.
